This is a project I made with Apéro, a Turkish gastronomy publication -with a sense of humour-, on Turkish culture, including a postcard series and a t-shirt, to be sold at their online shop for it’s food enthusiast readers.
For the t-shirt illustration, I conceptualized a traditional Turkish Fasıl night, (fasıl is a noun used for the arebesque music and performance by a group of musicians and in some cases belly dancers) which takes place specifically in meyhanes (traditional Turkish taverns)). Rakı, which is the national drink of Turkiye, has its own culture which is to
consume it with a specific cousine and also preferebly with a crowded group of friends. Referring to this culture, I wanted to design a merch which people would found some parts from themselves and their fasıl memories.

The concept of the postcard series were some of the iconic events of Turkish popular culture. On this series we have worked collaboratively with a well-known mixologist from Istanbul, and for each event he curated a special cocktail, I visualized these events and cocktails with vivid colors, incorporating the characters, some ingredients, and the finished product

Nasıl oluyor bu iş?
Bir deste (10 adet) kartpostal geliyor. Kartpostalın arkasındaki QR kod üzerinden kokteyl tariflerinin tam hâline ulaşılıyor.
Destede, illüstrasyonlarda boy gösteren ve günün anlam ve önemini taşıyan şarkıcılarımızın ölümsüz eserlerinden oluşan bir playlist de var, o da eşlikçi olarak kokteylleri hazırlarken ve yudumlarken arkada çalınsın diye.
